KnoWEwell was founded by Kimberly B. Whittle, a mom of five sons with over 15 years of experience helping her family, friends, and community navigate life’s challenges and turning points. Her mission is grounded in the belief that we all have a unique journey and purpose — and that no one should walk their path alone.

I grew up on pizza, Kraft mac and cheese, and canned vegetables — fresh ones only appeared on holidays.
My father had his first heart attack before forty and passed in his early sixties from diabetes. My mother struggled with depression, severe hypertension, and kidney disease, and died at seventy from kidney failure.
That was my “normal.” I didn’t yet understand how profoundly food, lifestyle, and environment shape our health and life outcomes.

I began my career as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with a Big Four firm, then moved into senior risk and compliance roles for Fortune 100 companies before co-founding a global management consulting firm focused on integrating people, processes, and technology.

Struggling with miscarriages for over 15 years, I was preparing for in vitro fertilization when a friend suggested a three-week detox. Three weeks later, I was pregnant with my son.
Excitement quickly mixed with fear. I worried he might face the same chronic challenges my stepsons, nephews, and friends’ children endured — ADD, ADHD, Asperger’s, allergies, learning disabilities — or even autism, which then affected 1 in 150 children (and today, 1 in 32).
Determined to protect him, I immersed myself in research and chose a natural, medication-free childbirth.
That choice came with pain — literally. My son’s birth broke my coccyx, leaving me bedridden for months and in pain for years. Because I was nursing, I refused pain medication, and that stillness became a teacher. I discovered chiropractic care, acupuncture, and homeopathy. I successfully nursed him for two years, used cloth diapers, and made all of his baby food with fresh, organic ingredients. This was first introduction to integrative healing — which ultimately helped me recover.

In 2012, my husband developed a rare autoimmune disease — pityriasis rubra pilaris (PRP) — that forced him onto disability. Conventional medicine nearly cost him his life after an adverse drug reaction landed him in the ICU.
Desperate to find answers, I found the Academy of Integrative Health and Medicine (AIHM) and heard Dr. Mimi Guarneri speak passionately about the connection between human and planetary health. I was so moved that I became a Dream Builder for the AIHM Foundation.
There, I discovered Functional Medicine. Listening to Dr. Patrick Hanaway, I realized my husband had a leaky gut — and that the root cause, not the symptoms, needed to be addressed.
When the Cleveland Clinic’s Center for Functional Medicine had a 1,500-person waitlist, I reached out to Dr. Jeffrey Bland, the “father” of functional medicine, who helped us secure appointments.
The results were life-changing.
Functional medicine uncovered the root causes, eliminated my husband’s need for statins, healed his eczema and severe pseudogout, and restored his vitality. My own twenty-year battle with IBS disappeared.
